Climate Change Adaptation

Building Resilience for a Sustainable Tomorrow

Uganda’s semi-arid regions, including the Lango and Bukedi cattle corridors, are on the front lines of the climate crisis. Unpredictable weather patterns, prolonged droughts, and environmental degradation threaten livelihoods and food security. We equip communities with the knowledge and tools to adapt, ensuring a sustainable future for the next generation.

Our Approach

We believe local communities hold the solutions. Our work strengthens the capacity of government institutions and local groups to lead their own climate response, promoting knowledge that is practical, local, and lasting.

Key Objectives

  • To strengthen local government institutions’ ability to plan and implement effective climate change responses.

  • To promote locally-led adaptation knowledge and practices in semi-arid communities.

  • To integrate climate-smart practices into youth livelihoods and community development.

Featured Project

Climate Adaptation (2024 – 2026)
In partnership with IDRC and IIED, this project focuses on programmes that strengthen government institutions for climate change response in the Lango and Bukedi cattle corridors. We champion approaches that are designed and led by the very people they serve.
