Oilseed Farming Project With SDF/PSFU (2018–2019)

Oilseed Farming Project With SDF/PSFU (2018–2019) - Noble Youth Foundation, Uganda

Connecting Young Farmers to Commercial Markets

Project Description:
NOYU implemented this agricultural livelihoods project to train young farmers in Lira, Kole, and Otuke in the cultivation of oilseed crops—sunflower, soya, and simsim (sesame). NOYU’s trainers covered all aspects of farming, from garden preparation and seed selection to pest management and post-harvest handling. NOYU organised farmers into marketing associations for bulk sales and connected them to commercial buyers, ensuring profitable and sustainable market access long after the project ended.
