Transforming Job Seekers into Job Creators

Status: Ongoing Since 2016 | Focus Area: Poverty Alleviation

A job provides for today; a business can sustain a family for generations. Using the globally recognised “Start and Improve Your Business” curriculum, we train thousands of young people in practical business management. We also connect young farmers to commercial markets, building profitable rural enterprises that create employment for others.

Programme Objectives:

  • To deliver world-class entrepreneurship training to youth across Northern Uganda.

  • To increase household incomes and savings through sustainable micro and small enterprise development.

  • To connect young farmers and business owners to profitable markets and supply chains.

  • To foster a culture of entrepreneurship that becomes an engine of local economic growth.

Active Projects:

  • Entrepreneurship Training (Ongoing Since 2016)
    Partner: International Labour Organisation (ILO)
    Trained over 23,300 youth in entrepreneurial skills, creating sustainable employment opportunities.

Completed Projects:

  • Oilseed Farming Project (2018–2019)
    Partner: Skill Development Facility (SDF) through Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU)
    Trained young farmers in Lira, Kole, and Otuke in sunflower, soya, and simsim cultivation. Covered pre- and post-harvest techniques and established marketing associations connecting farmers to buyers like Agrinet and TrueTrade Africa.
