Permanent Pathways to Lasting Change
Where our strategic vision meets daily action. Our four Thematic Focus Areas are brought to life through permanent, well-established Programmes.
Each programme is a long-term commitment, a dedicated channel through which we deliver specific, time-bound projects in partnership with donors and the communities we serve.
A programme is not a short-term fix. It is our enduring promise to tackle a critical challenge – be it poor health, economic exclusion, or climate vulnerability – with sustained effort, deep expertise, and a clear set of objectives.
Projects may begin and end, but our programmes persist, ensuring continuity of impact across the Lango Sub-Region.
How It All Connects
This structure ensures every donation, every partnership, and every hour of work contributes to a coherent, long-term strategy for nurturing hope and resilience.
Where Our Programmes Operate
All programmes are implemented across our operational footprint in the Lango Sub-Region of Northern Uganda:
Partner with a Programme
Our programmes thrive on collaboration. We work with international NGOs, government ministries, UN agencies, and private foundations. Each programme has a ring-fenced budget with transparent, separate accounting, ensuring every partner’s contribution is traceable and impactful.
Whether you represent an institution seeking a long-term programme partner or an individual wanting to support a cause close to your heart, there is a place for you at NOYU.

Skills Development & Vocational Training
Equipping Vulnerable Youth with Hands-On, Employable Skills
Status: Ongoing Since 2018 | Focus Area: Poverty Alleviation
The most direct path out of poverty is a steady, dignified income. This programme targets those most often left behind—child mothers, street children, and youth living with disabilities—providing certified training in trades with proven market demand. We do not just teach; we provide start-up toolkits and mentorship so graduates can launch their own businesses.
Entrepreneurship & Business Development
Transforming Job Seekers into Job Creators
Status: Ongoing Since 2016 | Focus Area: Poverty Alleviation
A job provides for today; a business can sustain a family for generations. Using the globally recognised "Start and Improve Your Business" curriculum, we train thousands of young people in practical business management.
We also connect young farmers to commercial markets, building profitable rural enterprises that create employment for others.
Integrated Livelihoods & Recovery
Rebuilding Lives and Incomes for Communities in Crisis
Status: Ongoing | Focus Area: Poverty Alleviation
Some communities face crises that demand a comprehensive response. This programme supports the most vulnerable families—war survivors, those in extreme poverty—with an integrated package of interventions. From income-generating activities and seed funds to nutrition, WASH, and agriculture, we restore both dignity and economic stability.
Sexual & Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)
Empowering Young People to Make Informed Decisions
Status: Ongoing | Focus Area: Health and Well-being
A young person who cannot control their reproductive health cannot fully control their future. This programme combines vital SRHR education with economic empowerment, creating a holistic shield against teenage pregnancy, early marriage, and exploitation. We create safe, non-judgemental spaces where young people can learn, ask questions, and access services.
HIV/AIDS & Malaria Awareness and Support
Raising Awareness, Reducing Stigma, Providing Life-Saving Services
Status: Ongoing | Focus Area: Health and Well-being
We take health services directly to the community. This programme organises testing, counselling, and referral for treatment, ensuring vulnerable populations know their status and can access the care they need. From HIV outreach to malaria advocacy, we reduce stigma and save lives through direct, compassionate action.
Community Health, Nutrition & WASH
Building the Foundations of Healthy Communities
Status: Ongoing | Focus Area: Health and Well-being
Good health begins with clean water, proper nutrition, and basic hygiene. This programme tackles the root causes of preventable disease by improving access to clean water and sanitation facilities while promoting good hygiene and nutritional practices. An integrated approach ensures lasting community well-being.
Access to Quality Primary Education
Giving Every Child a Foundation for Learning and Hope
Status: Ongoing | Focus Area: Education
Education is the cornerstone of empowerment. For many vulnerable children in Uganda, even primary schooling is out of reach.
This programme supports children aged 3–14 to access quality education through partnerships with trusted local schools, ensuring that the most disadvantaged receive the basic skills and knowledge that are the foundation for every future opportunity.
Youth Empowerment through Sports & Life Skills
Building Character, Confidence, and Resilience Beyond the Classroom
Status: Ongoing | Focus Area: Education
Education extends beyond books. We use sports as a powerful tool for engagement, teaching teamwork, discipline, and leadership.
This programme creates safe spaces where children and youth can grow physically and emotionally while learning essential life skills that prepare them for a successful future.
